In reply to <a href="https://www.gardenerreport.com/lavenders-winter-care/#comment-266">Marcia Sochacki</a>.

Thank you Marcia! Really great to hear that! Growing lavenders in pots is a great way to go living in Minnesota with cold Winters. I find growing an English lavender variety (such as 'Munstead' and 'Hidcote') and planting it in a gritty potting mix are the most important keys for success!

If it gets super cold (14 degrees F or -10 degrees C) then bring them indoors overnight, although I have had potted lavender survive these temperatures myself.
I'd love to know how your lavender does! Please let me know and ask any questions along the way! Good luck!

This is my first time experimenting with lavender planted in pots outdoors. You give wonderful advice and I will try my best to follow the proper steps. I love lavender so I am only starting out with a few to see how they do in MN winter. Wish me luck.
I really enjoy your articles.
